How we order search results
Position on BookPhysio.in is never sold. This page lists what actually decides the order you see, including the parts that are less flattering to us.
The short version
No physiotherapist can pay us for a higher position, because we take no commission on bookings and sell no placement. What decides the order is a fixed set of rules that we apply the same way to everyone, and they are written out below.
How the default order works
When you have not chosen a sort, results are grouped and then ordered inside each group, in this order:
- Elite physiotherapists first. Elite reflects profile completeness, credential checks, active availability and booking reliability. It cannot be bought.
- Then those whose credentials we have checked. A physiotherapist whose documents we have reviewed never sits below one we have not yet reviewed.
- Then by who joined first. Where two profiles are otherwise equal, the one that registered on BookPhysio.in earlier appears earlier. We are telling you this because it is a real bias in the default order and it is not something you can see from the results page.
- Then by a relevance score, described in the next section.
What relevance weighs
The relevance score combines these signals. Nothing else feeds it:
- How soon they are free. This is the single strongest signal. Someone available in two hours ranks above someone available next week.
- How close they are to you, where we know the distance.
- Whether we have checked their credentials.
- Their rating and how many patients rated them. Additional reviews count for progressively less, so a long-established profile cannot bury a good newer one.
- Years of experience, with a cap, so experience helps but does not dominate.
Ratings come only from patients who completed a session booked here. A physiotherapist with no reviews yet is not pushed down for it beyond the small weight above.
When you choose a sort
Choosing Soonest available, Price, Distance or Rating replaces the default order with that one thing. Your filters (city, specialty, visit type, fee, area, language, gender and insurance) decide who appears at all, never in what order.
What never affects position
- Paying us. There is no paid placement, and no commission on your booking.
- Referrals. Referring other physiotherapists does not move anyone up in search.
- How much a physiotherapist charges. Fee only matters if you sort or filter by it.
- Anything you or the physiotherapist tells us off the platform.
Hold us to this
If results look like they contradict this page, tell us and we will explain the specific case or fix it. Email support@bookphysio.in. You can also read how we check credentials.
Common questions
Can a physiotherapist pay to appear higher on BookPhysio.in?
No. We take no commission on bookings and we sell no placement, so there is nothing to buy. The order is decided by the rules on this page and applied the same way to every profile.
Why do some physiotherapists appear above others with the same rating?
The default order groups Elite profiles first, then those whose credentials we have checked. Within a group, the physiotherapist who joined BookPhysio.in earlier appears earlier, and after that a relevance score weighs how soon they are free, how close they are, their rating and review count, and their years of experience.
Does a physiotherapist with no reviews get pushed to the bottom?
No. Rating and review count are two signals among several, and additional reviews count for progressively less. A physiotherapist with no reviews yet can still rank well on availability, distance and a completed, credential-checked profile.
Do my filters change the order of results?
No. Filters such as city, specialty, visit type, fee, area, language, gender and insurance decide who appears at all. Order is set by the default rules, or by the sort you pick.
